Nembe City and Giwa FC expelled the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season

The League Management Company (LMC) has stated that there is no going back on its decision to expel Nembe City and Giwa FC from the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season.
Both clubs, who were the only privately owned franchises in the elite division were expelled from the league after they failed to meet the compulsory registration requirements for the new season which include a bank guarantee, improved match day facilities, N150,000 as monthly minimum wage for players, standard player contracts, amongst other requirements set by
the organizers.
A top official of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar, on Friday revealed that there is no going on the decision to expel the affected teams, as the league organizers have already re-arranged their schedules for the new season to fit only eighteen teams.
"Nembe City and Giwa FC were not suspended by the LMC as clubs. They have only been ruled out from participating in the 2013/2014 league season because of incomplete registration," Abubakar told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
"They have not been cleared by the LMC to play any match this new season. Automatically, all the matches involving them in the new season will no longer hold.
"The only thing they can do right now to is to appeal against the decision," Abubakar added.
Abubakar who is the LMC's Chief Operating Officer (COO) further informed that the LMC would soon determine the mode of compensation for SuperSport, the League's TV broadcast rights holders, who were already in Enugu for the live transmission of the match between Nembe City and Enugu Rangers which was to take place on Friday evening.
